Are Gemstone Lights truly invisible during the daytime?
Yes, virtually invisible. The system is custom-built inside a sleek, low-profile aluminum track that is custom-cut and color-matched directly to your home’s existing fascia or soffit color. The tracks run flush along the bumper of your roofline, completely hiding all wires and the tops of the bulbs. Unless someone is standing directly under your eaves looking straight up, they won’t even know the lights are there until you turn them on at night.
How do Gemstone Lights handle classic, everyday architectural lighting?
This is where Gemstone Lights outperform standard smart lights. Cheap alternative strands use a mix of Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) to “fake” white light, resulting in a cold, artificial blue or green tint. Gemstone Lights use a proprietary RGBWW bulb, which features a dedicated 4th diode explicitly designed to produce a rich, true, warm-white glow (2800K). This allows you to create elegant, high-end architectural downlighting for everyday use that perfectly mimics premium landscape lighting.
Can I control individual lights, or do they all have to be the same color?
You have total control over every single bulb individually. Because the system is fully addressable, you can use the smartphone app to turn on just the lights on your roof peaks, highlight specific pillars, or illuminate your front door while keeping bedroom windows completely dark. You can choose a static pattern, create custom holiday color combinations, or select moving, animated light patterns.
What happens if a single bulb burns out or breaks?
Because of how the system is engineered, if one bulb goes out, the rest of the track keeps running perfectly. Gemstone Lights are built with heavy-duty, individual connections rather than a continuous loop series. If a bulb happens to fail or experiences physical damage, it can be unclipped and swapped out by our team in just a few minutes without having to replace the entire track or strip.
How do the lights handle West Coast winter weather?
Gemstone Lights are engineered specifically to survive rugged climates. Every light component carries an IP67 waterproof rating, meaning they are completely sealed against heavy rain, melting snow, high humidity, and dust. The connectors utilize an absolute watertight compression twist-lock system, and the heavy-duty aluminum tracks protect the wiring from UV degradation and high winds. It is a true set-it-and-forget-it system built for year-round exposure.
